In the alpine corridor of Turin’s metropolitan area, Borgone Susa harnesses its steep, sun-exposed slopes to nurture alpine viticulture and chestnut groves. This rugged terrain is home to 15 overlapping protected geographical designations. Chief among them is the Valsusa DOC, a mountain wine limited to a tight zone of 19 municipalities, where native grapes cling to rocky terraces. On the same valley slopes, the sweet Marrone della Valle di Susa IGP chestnuts thrive in the fresh mountain air. These steep soils and dramatic temperature swings define the intense character of the local harvest.
