The real boundaries of production zones, drawn from official specifications onto ISTAT municipalities — not approximations, not a point dropped on a city. Every polygon corresponds to a list of municipalities that the law recognises as the territory of that denomination.

Most food maps drop a pin on a city. This one draws the real thing: the actual production-zone boundaries of each denomination, traced from the municipality lists in official specifications and rendered on ISTAT boundaries. That is why the map fills with overlapping shapes rather than dots — a single town can sit inside a small DOCG and a nationwide IGT at once, which is exactly how protected origins work. Click any zone to see its facts and producers. Where a zone's boundary can't be drawn from a published document, we say so instead of inventing a shape.
