Mercenasco

In the morainic hills of the Turin metropolitan area, the small commune of Mercenasco nurtures 15 protected denominations. This specific Piedmontese terroir is highly defined by Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG, a crisp, acidic white wine cultivated across a selective zone of only 36 municipalities. The same mineral-rich glacial soils also feed the local red and white vines of Canavese DOC. Here, the combination of cool alpine winds and clay-heavy soils yields uniquely structured profiles, demonstrating why this historic enclave has remained a vital viticultural hub within northern Italy.
