Pralormo

Occupying the southeasternmost boundary of Turin’s metropolitan territory, Pralormo sits on a unique clay-rich plateau where shallow, artificial ponds called peschiere have been dug for centuries. This specific landscape drives the cultivation of the highly local Tinca Gobba Dorata del Pianalto di Poirino DOP, a golden-hued tench reared in these farm ponds across a restricted zone of just 23 municipalities. In total, Pralormo’s distinctive terroir hosts 15 protected food and wine denominations, including the prestigious Crudo di Cuneo DOP, bridging the gastronomic transition between the Turinese plains and the southern hills.
