Quincinetto

In the northernmost reaches of Turin’s metropolitan province, home to fewer than a thousand residents, Quincinetto’s steep alpine topography shapes its agricultural destiny. Here, the rugged valley slopes yield the rare grapes behind Canavese DOC, a wine produced across a restricted zone of just 104 municipalities. The sharp elevation also favors mountain botanicals used in Genepì del Piemonte IG, an alpine herbal spirit. In total, 15 protected denominations overlap in this narrow transit corridor, where Piedmontese food and wine culture transitions into high-altitude alpine traditions, proving that geography dictates flavor.
