In the rugged Alpine foothills of Turin’s metropolitan area, the tiny enclave of Rorà—home to just 215 residents—nourishes 16 protected denominations. This steep, high-altitude terrain shapes the character of Pinerolese DOC, a mountain wine produced within a restricted zone of only 34 municipalities. The cold, rocky slopes also foster the aromatic artemisia plants destined for Genepì del Piemonte IG, an alpine herbal spirit, while the valley's distinct climate supports the curing of Crudo di Cuneo DOP. Rorà’s extreme geography concentrates intense mountain botanicals and yields resilient wines that thrive only in these rugged valleys.
