Rubiana

High above the Turin metropolitan area, the steep alpine slopes of the Susa Valley shape the microclimate of Rubiana, where altitude and alpine breezes define the local terroir. This rugged mountain setting is the birthplace of Valsusa DOC, a rare alpine wine cultivated across a restricted zone of just 19 municipalities. Alongside these high-altitude vineyards, the chestnut groves yield the sweet Marrone della Valle di Susa IGP, a prized local delicacy spanning 28 municipalities. In total, Rubiana boasts 16 protected denominations, proof that its dramatic topography fosters highly specialized, mountain-grown agriculture.
