Lignana

Lignana, a community within Piedmont’s Vercelli province, is a micro-region deeply ingrained in Italy's protected food heritage. This small area cultivates the very essence of products whose origins are inextricably linked to the local soil and climate. Among the 12 denominations claiming this terrain, the most distinctive is Toma Piemontese DOP, a cheese born from a tradition spanning 886 municipalities across Piedmont. Its unique character stems directly from the grazing lands here. Additionally, the revered Salame Piemonte IGP, with a production zone of 1180 municipalities, embodies the region's savoir-faire in cured meats. Lignana thus contributes significantly to Piemonte’s distinctive culinary map, hosting 12 designations of origin.
