In the high-altitude isolation of Celle di Macra, a tiny mountain commune of just 83 residents in the Cuneo province, extreme alpine terroir shapes a concentrated agricultural identity. This rugged Piedmontese pocket boasts 18 protected denominations, driven by microclimates that define local specialties. Here, the unique soil conditions yield the delicate Fagiolo Cuneo IGP, while the surrounding high pastures provide the distinct herbage essential for producing Raschera DOP and Bra DOP cheeses.
