Chiusa di Pesio

In the alpine shadow of Cuneo's foothills, where the Pesio river flows through Piedmont, the small community of Chiusa di Pesio fosters some of Italy's most celebrated mountain flavors. This rugged terrain, home to just over 3,700 residents, holds 18 protected denominations. The valley's humid alpine microclimate sustains the prized Fagiolo Cuneo IGP, a delicate bean grown across a specific zone of 247 municipalities. These same alpine pastures provide the rich milk required for Raschera DOP, a cheese pressed into its signature square shape to facilitate transport down the steep valley paths.
