Murello

Rising along the right bank of the Varaita torrent, Murello's river-fed plains provide the damp, fertile soils vital for the Fagiolo Cuneo IGP, a prized local bean cultivated across a specific zone of 247 municipalities. This damp microclimate also nurtures the pastures that yield milk for traditional Piedmontese cheeses, including Bra DOP and Raschera DOP. In total, 17 protected denominations overlap in this Cuneo commune, where the interplay of alpine runoff and lowland sun drives a concentrated agricultural heritage of specialized cheese, legume, and meat production.
