Tresana

The scattered woodland settlements of Tresana, which coordinate their community affairs from the hamlet of Barbarasco, climb the rugged hills of northern Tuscany. This isolated terrain shapes the microclimates behind 16 protected denominations. Chief among these local treasures are the aromatic Miele della Lunigiana DOP and the sweet Farina di castagne della Lunigiana DOP, both products of a tight geographical zone of just 14 municipalities. The chestnut forests and wildflowers of this valley floor feed the bees and enrich the soils, while the terraced hillsides produce the rare, crisp wines of the Val di Magra IGT.
