This isolated, mountain-carved landscape hosts 15 protected denominations, headlined by ancient local crops. The high-altitude climate is crucial for cultivating Farro della Garfagnana IGP, an heirloom spelt grown across a tight zone of just 15 municipalities. The chestnut trees clinging to these slopes yield the sweet flour known as Farina di Neccio della Garfagnana DOP.
