High in the Vigezzo Valley, the alpine municipality of Druogno—which absorbed the historic mountain hamlets of Coimo and Albogno in 1928—provides the perfect high-altitude pastures for crafting Ossolano DOP. This prized, raw milk cheese is produced across a limited zone of 37 northern municipalities, where cattle graze on pristine mountain flora. Druogno’s unique alpine microclimate and heritage support a total of 15 protected food and drink denominations. Among these is Genepì del Piemonte IG, a mountain spirit distilled from aromatic alpine artemisia, reflecting the wild flavors of these rugged Piedmontese slopes.
