Malesco, the largest alpine community in the Vigezzo Valley, straddles the rugged borders of the wilderness-rich Val Grande National Park. This pristine, high-altitude climate shapes the area's 15 protected denominations. The steep mountain pastures provide the perfect grazing grounds for producing Ossolano DOP, a traditional raw-milk cheese crafted across just 37 regional municipalities. Meanwhile, the steep rocky slopes encourage the growth of aromatic alpine herbs used to distill the botanical Genepì del Piemonte IG.
