Trontano

Rising into the alpine elevations of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province, the small community of Trontano translates its steep, rocky geography into intense mountain flavors. This rugged environment shapes Valli Ossolane DOC, an alpine wine restricted to a zone of just 17 municipalities. The high pastures also yield Ossolano DOP, a cheese produced across 37 mountain localities. Out of 17 protected denominations overlapping in this territory, these local specialties reflect how Trontano's sheer terraces and sharp temperature swings foster highly concentrated grapes and rich milk, defining a viticulture and dairy heritage shaped entirely by the Alps.
