A defining technical feature of this denomination is its dual allowance for Rosato production; winemakers can craft these wines either through direct rosé vinification of red grapes or by co-fermenting a blend of red and white musts or grapes. Across nearly all typologies, growers adhere to a maximum yield of 11.0 tonnes per hectare. For the generic Rosso, which requires a minimum total alcohol of 11.5% vol, aging transforms the ruby red color toward garnet, producing a dry, fine, and harmonic flavor.
