Established in 2004, the Terre di Veleja IGT covers a specific territory in Piacenza province, including Alseno, historically connected to the Roman archaeological site of Veleia. What sets this denomination apart from its neighbors is its rare 'mosto di uve parzialmente fermentato' designation. Available across all grape colors and varieties, this sweet, semi-sparkling style must keep its actual alcohol level strictly between 1% and 6.3% by volume. Additionally, any frizzante wines produced under this label are strictly prohibited from using artificial carbonation, ensuring natural effervescence. Red wines must meet a maximum yield limit of 16.0 tons per hectare and reach at least 11.0% minimum alcohol by volume.
