Here, steep terrain and alpine breezes forge an ideal terroir, earning the commune a place in 18 distinct protected denominations. Chief among these highly localized treasures is Dolcetto d'Acqui DOC, a characterful red wine cultivated across a tight zone of just 23 municipalities. The high-altitude slopes also nurture the crisp Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato DOC, proving that Ponzone's dramatic geography yields exceptionally concentrated flavors that thrive far from the crowded valley floors.
