Rogolo

Within Lombardy's Sondrio province, the modest municipality of Rogolo, home to 580 inhabitants, showcases a remarkable concentration of agricultural heritage. Its position within the narrow Alpine valley, roughly 32 kilometers west of Sondrio, provides specific microclimates essential for its acclaimed produce. Rogolo contributes to 13 distinct protected denominations, reflecting this unique terroir. Among these, the Mela di Valtellina IGP finds its ideal conditions, originating from a zone of only 59 municipalities. This environment also sustains the authentic Bresaola della Valtellina IGP and the robust Valtellina Casera DOP, both tied to specific production areas encompassing 77 municipalities, defining their localized excellence.
