Traona

Traona, in Lombardy's Sondrio province, thrives on the sun-drenched slopes of the Rhaetian Alps, along the distinctive Costiera dei Cech. This unique terroir, blessed by Alpine influences and the Adda River valley, is the birthplace of 14 protected denominations. Among them, the region's specific conditions elevate wines like Alpi Retiche IGT, a designation shared by just 34 municipalities, highlighting its focused origin. Here too, the robust flavors of Mela di Valtellina IGP apples and Bresaola della Valtellina IGP cured meats achieve their distinct character, rooted in the very essence of this exceptional Alpine landscape.
