Bressanone/Brixen lies at the alpine confluence of the Isarco and Rienza rivers, where steep Eisacktal slopes and cool mountain drafts create a distinct grape-growing microclimate. This unique terroir nurtures 16 protected denominations. Chief among these is the Alto Adige DOC, a wine designation spanning a zone of 52 municipalities, which yields highly aromatic white wines on these high-altitude granite soils.
