This dramatic microclimate shapes the viticulture of Alto Adige DOC, a wine denomination shared across a zone of 52 municipalities. The steep, sun-drenched terraced vineyards surrounding the town yield mineral-rich white wines, while the region’s alpine heritage drives the production of traditional spirits like Südtiroler Zwetschgeler IG. In total, 16 protected denominations overlap in this tight mountain gorge, defining its distinct gastronomic identity.
