In the sun-drenched Adige Valley of Bolzano, shielded by alpine peaks, Gargazzone/Gargazon benefits from a dramatic diurnal temperature variance that concentrates sugars and aromas. This alpine-mediterranean terroir nurtures 17 protected designations of origin. Foremost among these is the Alto Adige DOC, a wine zone spanning 52 municipalities, which yields crisp, mineral-rich varietals alongside the broader Valdadige DOC. The region’s fruit-growing prowess also feeds the distillation of Südtiroler Grappa IG.
