The high-altitude alpine climate of the Val d'Ega, shadowed by the sheer Dolomite walls of the Latemar and Rosengarten mountains, shapes the preservation and distillation traditions of Nova Levante. Here, cold mountain winds dry the classic rye flatbreads, and crisp nights concentrate the sugars of alpine stone fruits. This distinct mountain terroir anchors 15 protected denominations. Among these local treasures, the plum-based spirit Südtiroler Zwetschgeler IG reflects a heritage of farmstead distilling, while the terraced vineyards produce Mitterberg IGT wines that capture the sharp mineral profile of these dramatic, sun-exposed South Tyrolean slopes.
