Positioned at the westernmost frontier of the Biois Valley where Veneto meets Trentino, Falcade’s high-altitude alpine terrain directly shapes its distinctive gastronomy. This alpine climate fuels the diverse mountain flora required to produce Miele delle Dolomiti Bellunesi DOP, a mountain honey protected across a restricted zone of 60 municipalities. The same rugged pastures feed the dairy herds behind the robust Piave DOP cheese. In total, this mountain outpost boasts 15 protected denominations, proving that even at the rugged edges of the province of Belluno, extreme geography yields highly concentrated, regulated flavors.
