Fonzaso's alpine landscape, stretching across mountainous hamlets like Arten and Frassenè in Belluno, yields complex flavors shaped by rugged topography. The high-altitude wildflower pastures feed the bees that craft Miele delle Dolomiti Bellunesi DOP, a rare honey limited to a zone of 60 alpine municipalities. This sharp mountain climate also nurtures the dairy herds producing the distinct Piave DOP cheese. In total, Fonzaso hosts 15 protected denominations, where steep limestone slopes and dramatic thermal swings enrich everything from alpine cheeses to Vigneti della Serenissima DOC sparkling wines.
