Canale d'Agordo

In the high-altitude valley of Canale d'Agordo, where the preserved Ladin minority culture reflects centuries of alpine isolation, the rugged mountain terroir shapes distinct local flavors. This Belluno commune hosts 15 protected denominations, headlined by alpine delicacies that thrive in these high meadows. The flower-rich pastures yield the prized Miele delle Dolomiti Bellunesi DOP, a mountain honey restricted to a zone of 60 mountain municipalities, alongside the robust Piave DOP cheese. The extreme climate also influences regional viticulture, feeding the high-altitude grapes authorized under the Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT.
