This climate shapes 17 overlapping protected designations, led by the prestigious Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, a classification restricted to a zone of just 17 municipalities. On these steep slopes, vines dig deep into mineral-dense flysch soils. The same terrain nurtures the low-yielding Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit DOCG. These specific geological conditions ensure that Tricesimo’s wines possess a precise, mineral intensity that cannot be replicated outside this micro-region.
