Statte

Statte, a municipality in Puglia's Taranto province, gained autonomy from the city of Taranto in 1993, establishing itself as a distinct commune. This young territory, however, boasts deep agricultural roots. Its unique microclimate and soils, influenced by the Ionian coast, cultivate the famed Clementine del Golfo di Taranto IGP, a protected food product. Additionally, Statte contributes to the renowned Colline Joniche Tarantine DOC wines and the distinctive Terre Tarentine DOP olive oil. In total, 14 protected denominations originate, in part, from this distinct terroir, reflecting its profound viticultural and agricultural heritage despite its recent political establishment.
