This specific geography is crucial for the acclaimed Patata della Sila IGP, a protected denomination shared by only 24 municipalities, where the unique soil and mountain air imbue the potatoes with their distinct qualities. This corner of Calabria contributes to a total of 12 protected food and wine origins. These range from the aromatic Clementine di Calabria IGP to rich DOP meats like Soppressata di Calabria, all expressions of Taverna's distinctive high-altitude and foothill environment.
