Born from the 2018 unification of three distinct alpine hamlets—Introzzo, Tremenico, and Vestreno—the mountain territory of Valvarrone gathers a surprising culinary heritage. Despite its small, scattered population, this high-altitude landscape in the province of Lecco is home to 16 protected denominations. Chief among these local treasures is Terre Lariane IGT, a wine denomination reflecting the steep lakeside terroir. This rugged geographic setting also shapes the aging environment for Salame Brianza DOP. Here, alpine breezes cool the valleys, creating a microclimate where mountain viticulture and traditional curing methods yield products deeply bound to this freshly unified corner of Lombardy.
