Perched at 549 meters above sea level in Calabria's Crotone province, Verzino's elevated, undulating terrain comprises a mosaic of cultivated fields, vineyards, and olive groves, interspersed with tracts of woodland and even stark clay. This distinct landscape fosters exceptional produce, notably contributing to the revered Alto Crotonese DOP olive oil, a product of only six municipalities. The unique interplay of elevation and soil also shapes the distinct character of Pecorino Crotonese DOP cheese.
