Roero is Alberto Oggero's sole horizon, and within that single guaranteed denomination, he finds material for five labels. Nebbiolo defines the reds; Arneis splits into still whites and sparkling wines; some complementary varieties complete the picture without distracting from it. It's a range that explores a single territory from multiple angles, with a twenty-month aging period that demands patience before each release. Oggero's hallmark lies in his dialogue with the vineyard and measured cellar practices, where soil and vintage demand to arrive intact in the glass. He considers the land both teacher and source, and this fidelity has made him a recognized reference within the nineteen municipalities of Roero. He does not open for visits, but his interpretation of the south of the Tanaro—hills of ancient sands yielding nervy whites and fine-grained reds—remains among the most coherent within the denomination.
