Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

The story of Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero began in 1950 in Vezza d'Alba, when Daniela's parents acquired Cascina Valmenera and consolidated vineyards within the Roero region, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The actual company took shape in 1970 and remains family-run, in the hands of Daniela and Luigi. Roero DOCG is the winery's sole denomination, but it's interpreted across multiple registers: Nebbiolo defines the structured reds, while Arneis gives life to the whites and sparkling wines. Behind this versatility lies a rare geology. The soils retain the memory of an ancient seabed that re-emerged over three million years ago, and this mineral richness is evident in the wines as a signature of terroir that is difficult to imitate. It is from this encounter between grape variety and subsoil that the company derives its idea of Roero, measured and faithful to its origins.
