AZ. AGR. POGGIO FEDERICA DI MICHETTI ROBERTO

Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCGCònero DOCGVerdicchio di Matelica Riserva DOCG+1

In the Marche region, Poggio Federica di Michetti Roberto brings together four DOCG denominations that cover the entire regional color spectrum. At the two extremes are Vernaccia nera di Serrapetrona, sparkling from a rare grape variety, and the reds of Cònero, where Montepulciano and Sangiovese mature for at least twenty-four months before finding their structure. In the middle are the whites, entrusted to a single grape variety expressed in two riserva wines. Verdicchio is truly the hallmark of the winery here: the Matelica version originates from an inland, concentrated land, while the Castelli di Jesi comes from a broader, airier area, and both undergo prolonged contact with wood, which extends their longevity. Managing four such distinct territories — from sparkling red to age-worthy white — requires a precise understanding of the vintage and soil, rather than a repeated formula. It's a portfolio that reads like a scaled-down map of Marche oenology, held together by technical skill rather than rhetoric.
