BERNACCHI MARIA-CRISTINA (TENUTE URANI)
Fano · Province of Pesaro e Urbino · Marche
Maria-Cristina Bernacchi manages Tenute Urani, an organic estate spanning eleven hectares — three and a half of which are vineyards — in the San Cesareo area, nestled among the hills of the Pesaro and Urbino province. The first rows were planted by her grandparents in 1974; today, the estate stands out for an unusually broad range of accolades, with four Marche DOCG wines produced under a single direct management. The repertoire covers the entire spectrum of the region's great wines: Vernaccia di Serrapetrona in both sparkling and red versions, Cònero among the structured reds, and two Riserve dedicated to Verdicchio, one from Matelica and one from Castelli di Jesi. This diversity is supported by the clay and limestone soil of the Montepulito hill, exposed to Adriatic winds, where biodynamic viticulture is practiced. It is a rare case of a small organic winery capable of overseeing four top Marche denominations while maintaining direct control over every stage.
