BRUZZECHESSE GABRIELLA
Matelica · Province of Macerata · Marche
In Matelica, among the hills of the Macerata region, Gabriella Bruzzechesse oversees four guaranteed denominations, a range that spans almost the entire hierarchy of Marche reds and whites. Vernaccia nera di Serrapetrona opens the repertoire with its dual nature, still and spumante (sparkling), while Cònero brings the structure of the region's fuller-bodied reds, with a warmer, more expansive character. The winery's white wine focus, however, is on Verdicchio, interpreted in two Riserva versions aged eighteen months: one tied solely to Matelica, more taut and mineral, the other to the broader cuvée of Castelli di Jesi. It is in this dialogue between two expressions of the same grape variety that the winery's hallmark is revealed: a technical precision that rejects shortcuts and measures each wine by the long period of aging. Four titles, then, that tell the story of a territory capable of speaking both the language of red wine and the more celebrated one of age-worthy white wine.
