Parteolla

Wine · PGI · 6 municipalities

Recognized in 1999, the Parteolla IGT covers a compact zone of six municipalities in southeastern Sardinia, including Dolianova and Serdiana. While the denomination permits base blends of white, red, and rosé wines, its varietal-labeling rules carry an unusual restriction. Although varietal wines must contain at least 85 percent of the declared grape, the regulations explicitly forbid using iconic Sardinian varieties—such as Cannonau, Vermentino, and Monica—for single-varietal labeling under the Parteolla name. Instead, these famous grapes are restricted to supporting roles in base blends, leaving the varietal designation for other authorized grapes. Currently, the registry lists zero active verified producers.
