Ronchi di Brescia
Wine · PGI · 12 municipalities
Recognised since 1999, the Ronchi di Brescia IGT covers twelve Lombardy municipalities, including Cellatica and Brescia itself. This denomination distinguishes itself by a strict prohibition in Article 7, which explicitly bans the use of the term "riserva" or any similar qualifiers on the label. Furthermore, while standard red and white styles must respect a maximum yield cap of 13.0 t/ha, the sweet passito style is strictly reserved for white grapes and must contain a minimum of 85% Invernenga. This passito must also reach a minimum alcohol content of 15.0% by volume, contrasting with the 10.5% minimum required for the base wines.
