Carvico

Situated in the Bergamo province of Lombardy, the small municipality of Carvico is home to under five thousand residents. This location, where the pre-Alpine hills flatten into fertile plains, fosters exceptional viticulture, most notably the Valcalepio DOC, a wine shared with only 42 municipalities. The mineral-rich soils here also yield the prized Terre del Colleoni DOC and Bergamasca IGT. While vineyards dominate these local hillsides, Carvico's 17 protected denominations also include a legacy of northern Lombard cheesemaking, giving birth to prestigious regional varieties like the soft, aromatic Taleggio DOP.
