Sarnico

At the western point of Lake Iseo where its waters transition into the Oglio river, Sarnico's unique lakeside microclimate shapes its agricultural identity. Sarnico is part of 17 protected denominations, most notably the Valcalepio DOC, a wine zone spanning just 42 municipalities. The local slopes also feed the Terre del Colleoni DOC, which covers 71 municipalities, and the Bergamasca IGT. These hillside vineyards benefit from the temperating wind off the lake and the fertile soils formed by the ancient river outflow, resulting in structured reds and crisp whites that define this precise geographical crossroads.
