Ora/Auer

Settled on the gravelly alluvial fan deposited by the Schwarzenbach stream in the Adige Valley, Ora/Auer benefits from intense Alpine sun and sharp diurnal temperature drops. This distinct microclimate nurtures 18 protected denominations. Chief among these is Lago di Caldaro DOC, a wine denomination limited to a zone of 18 municipalities. The valley's porphyry-rich debris also feeds the mineral-forward whites and structured reds of the Alto Adige DOC. Here, mountain winds and stony soils translate directly into alpine viticulture, creating wines defined by their tension and bright acidity.
