Villa Lagarina

Flanking the Adige River in the alpine province of Trento, this community of under four thousand residents shapes its viticulture along gravelly mountain terraces. This specific valley floor terrain fuels the namesake Vallagarina IGT, a wine denomination produced across a restricted zone of 21 municipalities. In total, Villa Lagarina boasts 24 protected denominations. The local soils nourish the native red grapes of Casteller DOC and the high-altitude vineyards that yield the elegant, bottle-fermented sparkling wines of Trento DOC, demonstrating how these dramatic slopes turn alpine climate into complex, structured vintages.
