Laghi

Laghi, Veneto's smallest municipality, occupies a secluded valley in the Vicenza Prealps where two natural spring-fed lakes create a humid, cool microclimate. This damp mountain air is essential for curing Soprèssa Vicentina DOP, a local garlic-scented salami produced across a restricted zone of 113 municipalities. The surrounding alpine pastures also yield the milk destined for Asiago DOP, which shares this mountainous terroir. In total, 15 protected food and wine denominations overlap within Laghi’s borders, demonstrating how this alpine pocket transforms its sharp altitude and water-rich valley into a sanctuary for slow-cured meats and mountain cheeses.
