In the Venetian province of Vicenza, the small municipality of Salcedo—home to fewer than a thousand residents—nurtures agricultural products on its volcanic slopes. This territory contributes to 18 protected designations. Chief among these is the Ciliegia di Marostica IGP, a cherry cultivated within a restricted zone of just 8 municipalities. The local terroir also shapes the profile of Breganze DOC wines, a specialized production limited to 12 communes. Salcedo’s specific microclimate, blending alpine breezes with mineral-rich soils, yields sweet stone fruits and highly aromatic, structured wines.
