Medolla

Medolla thrives on the reclaimed alluvial soils of the lower Po Valley, a flat landscape north of Modena where historical drainage transformed marshy ground into fertile agricultural land. This specific moisture-retentive earth fuels the roots of the dark-skinned grapes used for Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce DOC, a sparkling red wine limited to a tight zone of just 13 municipalities. The alluvial terrain also yields the intense sour cherries of Amarene Brusche di Modena IGP, a local specialty spanning 44 municipalities. Here, reclaimed river silt directly translates into concentrated, bright acidity in both glass and jar.
