Since 1830, Fratelli Alessandria has cultivated vineyards in Verduno, at the northern tip of the Langa, working across four guaranteed denominations. Two are the great Nebbiolo reds—Barolo and Barbaresco—built on time, with aging periods of 38 and 26 months respectively; the other two, Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba and Dogliani, bring the more immediate and mineral character of Dolcetto to the glass, expressed on distinct terroirs. The family scale here is a methodological choice rather than a mere circumstance: it allows for close dialogue with individual vineyards and barrels, without delegation. This fosters a thread of continuity that links the inherited land to the duty of passing it on intact, a coherence evident in the four labels. The winery opens its doors for visits and tastings: the most direct way to gauge the distance—and kinship—between long-aging Nebbiolo and more approachable Dolcetto.
