Fumagalli Ferdinando extends its work across two estates and a single production philosophy. In Berbenno di Valtellina, the dry-stone terraces of the "Muretti" support ancient vines, while in La Valletta Brianza, the "San Martino" estate safeguards the house's ancestral rosato. Since 2008, the company has embarked on a clear path: recovering abandoned vineyards to restore them to quality yields, even before focusing on labels. From Verdese, Chardonnay, and Pinot bianco comes the estate's sole denomination, the Terre Lariane IGT, offered in three versions—bianco, rosso, and rosato—making it a flexible vessel rather than a rigid label. The geographical trajectory tells the rest of the story: starting from the Sondrio Alps and descending to the Lombard pre-Alps, stitching together two distant viticultural landscapes under one name. It's as much a recovery project as it is a winery endeavor, where the choice of vitigno follows the rediscovered vocation of the slope rather than market demand, and geography becomes an integral part of understanding the wine.
