Azienda Agricola Feudo Gagliardi di Vozzo Teresa
Caulonia · Province of Reggio Calabria · Calabria
Above Caulonia, on the terraced plateau of Calabria's Reggio side, Feudo Gagliardi cultivates vines and olive trees where steep slopes dictate the rules. The Vozzo family has worked these slopes for generations, and today Teresa Vozzo leads the transition, inheriting from her father the idea of innovating traditional farming practices without betraying them. The result is certified organic olive oils and structured wines, distributed across four IGT denominations—Locride, Palizzi, Costa Viola, and Pellaro—which cover the productive range of the territory. The four labels interpret the microclimates of the slopes: the reds of Palizzi and Pellaro are based on Nerello, while Locride opens to white interpretations, in a range that reflects the exposure and altitude of each parcel. It's more of a mosaic than a uniform range, where each denomination bears the imprint of its own corner of Calabria. The estate welcomes visitors: coming here means seeing firsthand how the extreme gradient translates into the glass, and tasting wines and oils in the place that generates them.
